I've got an 03 TJ 2.4 and NV1500. My Question is what spline count should the output shaft on the tranny be? Tera Flex said it should be a 21 spline so I ordered a 21 spline tera low, but when I pulled my stock case out the output shaft on the tranny is a 23 spline. Just wondering if anyone else has looked at one of these. I was told that it had probably been swaped out, but I bought the jeep new.

and I did a search but I didn't come up anything.

Thanks

The 1500 is the 4 cyl tranny that took the place of the ax-5 in '03. The 2.5L was also replaced with the 2.4L from the KJ. I have no idea on the output shafts though.

No, he's right. :shaking:

The stock tranny would be the 1500 behind the 2.4 rather than the ax-5 used behind the 2.5; and before they moved to the new 6-speed, whatever they call that thing.

As for spline count and possibility of someone already having swapped to the 3550, I'm not sure. Are you sure that Teraflex has dealt with the 1500, and didn't just assume it'd be 21 spline since the ax-5 was 21 spline?

There is very little info out there on the 1500, but try googling on it.
