Common wear point on the 208 is the shift forks.. The little nylon pads will wear off the forks causing incomplete ingagement when shifting into 4wd which will allow it to pop out of gear which can break things..The second thing is keep it full of oil (tranny fluid).. If allowed to run too low it can cause excess wear to the chain which will then stretch and can break it will also burn bearing.. Also make sure it is well skidplated because it can break if smacked hard enough on trail obstacles(large rocks, stumps, guard rails) .. I have one in my 93 Dodge with the Cummins and so far it is doing great despite what others may say..
