so im swapping in a 60 in the rear of my jeep in place of an 8.8. i know the pinion is longer and the ring gear is bigger on the 60, therefore to use the same drive shaft im going to need to push it back. no big deal, ive wanted a good reason to do this for a while. my question is, does anyone have any good numbers on 60vs8.8 pinion length. i know the ring gear diameters already but im trying to figure out what springs to use. ive got a set of xj springs i can put in but i dont want it to be too long to where i cant use my current driveshaft, im on a budget. does anyone have a definate number on the xj springs and how far they move the axle? or the center pin offsets? everywhere i look i get a different number. i know i could go waggys and be fine but i have xj springs and am on a budget. or would i just be better to move my spring hangers back on the frame? or could i move them forward on the fram and run xj springs? little advice would be appreciated, this has all just been rolling over in my head for a while

may not help, but making a drive shaft is pretty easy if you have some tools, with that being said just put the new axle in where you want it, measure and make a new drive shaft.

well waggy spring will bolt right in the rear. If you have a cj or YJ. and if you turn the short end of the spring to the rear it will move your axle back about 1 1/2 to 2 in.

I run them front and rear and I love them in my jeep. I need to get longer shocks so it can flex even more :)

not sure how much in a yj, but in my TJ when I put XJ springs in the back I gained roughly 7"...that being said, it took about 8 min. to extend my current driveshaft to the length I needed...just get a welding shop to do that for you if you are unable to...hth...

Another thing to keep in mind is the pumpkin size and amount of compression you hope to attain. Dont wanna be caving in your fuel tank..
