I think i am going to try a wristed arm and coils on the rear of my EB. Anyone have an idea of a good soft coil i could use? The front i'm doing wristed arm with BC 5.5" Coils. I have the really big tuffy box in the back and a 38.5" spare so i'd guess 300lbs.

I would go with the same coils in the rear, call Chuck and tell him what you are doing. They make the coils in different rates for winches and a 351.

i talked to him last night about it, he had no idea what i should use. I still think the 302 w/o winch coils might be too stiff for the rear. If i can't get any other suggestions i'll go with them, i just thought someone may have a good idea.

Try sending FearMe a pm he had Duff coils front and rear so I am sure he would have some pointers.

If you leaving the Bronco body on and carry a lot of gear the Duff coils will work great in the rear. If your..uh..modifying your EB a lot you might want to go with a much lighter rate spring. I'm switching to 6" TJ coils in the rear. With the EB weight you need a stiffer spring in the rear though.
yo: FearMe you got any pics of your setup ?
im thinkin of this for the rear of an explorer :smokin:
well, figure the back of your EB sheet metal and all from the door jam back is about 230 lbs. With 38" spare and steel rims, add on about 80 lbs and the box stuffed with tools and *whatever* add another 100 lbs.
Full cage, 40lbs.
Lets not forget the gas tank, or tanks if thats the case.
The front coils are built to hold up the 300lbs of 302, and all the other crap that is there to make your truck run. steering box etc etc.
So, figuring on all of that, coils that are built for the front of a EB should support the back end, fully loaded with a little bit of sagging.
I would go as soft as you can, and adjust your rear coil buckets on install to compinsate for that.
Keep the coils in as close to the frame as you can. The more axle you have hanging out, the more flex you will have due to leverage.
Honistly, your best bet would be to take your truck, stuffed with everything you would bring on a Major trail ride. Full tank's' of gas and a friend in the passanger seat.
Go to a truck scale and have them weigh the rig. with only the rear axle on the scale. From there, you can have an exact spring rate.
