gah.
DUDE!
"SUZUKI SAMURAI"
1298 cm3= 1,298 cubic centimetres=1.3 litres=1300 cc=79.2 cubic inches.(which coincidentally, equals 4 rather angry hampsters...)
which year? the "88.5" or the "1988.5" :D

As I recall, the 1298 makes it an EFI motor ('90 or later). The pre EFI was stamped something over 1300 cc (130x CM3).
The main differences are:
A few less cc's, higher compression, little more aggressive cam :). Did you get the EFI computer, TBI & manifold with it?
The only big issue with making a blubber motor out of it is the mechanical fuel pump. There is no lobe on the EFI cam! You'll have to run an electric fuel pump or install the older cam/head. (I believe the EFI head still had the casting for the pump, but there is no lobe on the cam to drive it....).
Obviously, intake manifold may be different, but you can put your old one on the new motor. Everything else should bolt right up....
Oh yes, you'll need your old distributor...
Beyond that, look to see if your acc pulley (crank) is on with four or five bolts... '94 or later is five (very rare, and a kicker for doing a 1.6 conversion, but cost's ya when you buy a timing belt :D )!
