I am going to embark on a spring over project on my FJ40 and was planning on using FJ55 springs, but the popularity of these springs has limited there aviliblity around here...SO I am thinking FJ60 springs (plenty of these around) does anyone have the measurements for the front and rear springs in terms of length and offset of center pin??? Just rough idea is good... Trying to figure if front or rear is closer to rear FJ55 springs dimensions.
Has anyone already done this and willing to share advice/insight?
Thanks!

Brett...The front FJ60 springs are not useful, as they are shorter than any of the other FJ series (something like 41.5 long). The FJ60 rears are essentially the same length as the FJ55 rears. On the FJ60 rear packs, the center pin is offset approximately 3". I am using FJ60 rears on the front of the truggy project. Some pics of these springs are posted on the recent thread about thru the frame shackle hangers.

I have FJ62(ithink the same as 60's) spring on the rear of mine, I
moved the solid hanger forward about 3" I think. I didn't mess with the shackle it will be a little more angled back, but not to much.
I think the springs are close to 4" longer than the 40's, and most of that is on the front side of the spring.
Is that frame powder coated??????

No its not powder coating, I painted it with a single stage car paint:D

Medusa,
If you use the 60 springs and they have a center pin offset, how far back will the axle be if you use the stock spring location on a 40 and extend the rear by 4" ? 3 or 4"?
I am assuming the offset is toward the front of the spring to help prevent axle wrap?
thanks
