That is sick!

What is the wheelbase on that now? It looks a bit longer than stock.
What is the overall height of it as well?

112" wheelbase

I have not checked the hight, but it should come down a little bit maybe 1-2"

I think that's like 12"-13" longer then stock.

Yeah, I was looking at it and thinking that seems to be a bit too tall. I'm sure it would function like that just fine, but if I were to drive it I would want it about 2-3 inches lower.

Still impressive though.

Looks good. I'd worry about the LCA's a little. Hang pretty low for rock crawling.

Looks good but if you do any serious crawling you're going to bash the shit out of those lower mounts. You might want to build some sliders for those suckers.

For in the rocks, which is what pirate is all about that cherokee sucks :flipoff2:

The links hang down low and will hang you up on stuff, and the body height is very Tall though you already dont have much uptravel from your choice in Airshock mounts.

Besides the links and air shock mounts it looks sick and clean:flipoff2:
Id wheel it as is, but is see you having may suspesion clearance issues.

greentj
11-15-2005, 03:49 PM
What about steering? Or did I miss it?

Full Hydro with the triangulated 4 link?

Is it final ride height? Or are you going to lower it a bit?

Sweet work none the less.:cool2:

Like I said earlier the ride height will come down some.

what are you talking about with the shock mount??

I don't plan on getting it right first try, but I don't think the arms are going to slow him down, if they do we will move them.:)

I like this way better then radius arm style setups that I see. We tested it in the shop and had no clearance issues but the shop is not real life either ,so when I get the steering from station and run it for real I will let you know what happens.:)

so...in order to change a valve cover gasket...do you have to cut the crossmember for the air shocks???

My suggestion would be to guset those lower link mounts too.

Also...do you have front driveshaft clearance? It may just be the angles but it looks tight?

Brandon

11-15-2005, 09:24 PM
Yeah, seems to me that a couple items were not all that well thought out. For one, the air shocks mount in the engine is in the way if you need to change a head gasket or valve cover gasket, and for two, the way those link mounts are on mounted on the skid plate, they will get beat all to hell....

What size (travel) shocks are you running?
I'm running a similar rear with Fox 2.5"X16" and Rock Krawler front coils in my XJ.
I'm considering going to front airshox as well but the rear is on the verge of being too loose. Not sure if I want to go airshox up front.
Keep us up to date when you take it out. I'm real curious how air all around will handle.

you need to read instead of just looking at pic's that was all on page 1:flipoff2:

Every thing is already fully boxed on the link mounts.

The front drive should fit with no prob's.

Not bad... I wanna see pics of it flexed on the trail to see clearance and also what the overall hieght is after it settles..

also what is the measurement from ground to belly ?

mark.bales
11-16-2005, 09:18 AM
I did not want the same size links top and bottom, so that's why we went that way. If the lowers get beat up then I will shorten them up no big deal. but I'm not going to change until it's a problem.

kid4lyf- they are 14" shox all around.

Not bad... I wanna see pics of it flexed on the trail to see clearance and also what the overall hieght is after it settles..

also what is the measurement from ground to belly ?

I wanna see pic's of it flexed on the trail too, as soon as our steering from station comes in we will get it out show you all some pics.

belly should be about 28" but there is room to play with that a little.
I will get the right ride height and let you know the final measurement

I should have set it at ride height before I posted it, but there is no bumper's on it right now. it makes it hard to lift it up tires and all to fill the air shox with no bumper's so I shot 200psi in them with out tires on and fully extended shox and that is were it Set's now.
BUT IT WILL COME DOWN ON THE RIDE HIGHT.

mark.bales

I think your link clearances will be fine. My passenger side UCA just rubs the pan at full compression. I let the arm self clearance the pan. :)The driver's side clears the exhaust easily.

they work great:smokin: I don't have as much time in the seat as my dad but when I drove it it felt very stable and very smooth. The one thing it needs besides the D60 front:flipoff2: is a winch loop on the front axle to help the front end from unloading, but we will wait and put one on the D60 this winter.:)

Hi Son. They are 2" spacers from Performance Wheel & Tire and they work realy well. Also they are spendy 95.00 each plus shiping. But you get what you pay for!!!!!

I myself realy like it. You have to get the tension on the cable right. I havent had any problems with mine. and the best part no air leaks ha ha.

I run Clayton long arms with only 4.5" of lift. Do I ever hit the mounts? Sure. All the time, but who cares? I hit the diffs, skids, bumpers, driveshafts and sliders all the time also. Not as big a deal as it allways gets made out to be so as long as they are strong and you inspect them they arn't the issue as some with out them make them out to be.
