so I don't know much about the trucks.

I have spent the last two hours reading anything that had 4.0*, 3.0* and/or Ford in it.

This is the reason I posted the last post about mile too.

I am looking for a Ranger 2wd or 4wd with the 4.0L and a manual. I basically want reliable and fun in a small package.

I want to know everything that everyone knows about this combo.

I do know that I don't want a 2.8, 2.9, 3.0 or any auto other than the AOD because these are all POS or under powered. I wouldn't mind a 5.0 or bigger but I want as much stuff as possible to be OEM. A F series is too big for what I want.

Looks like you know what you don't want. Now all you have to do is go out and get what you want.

I'v got a 4.0 /w auto and the tranny has held up fine so far.. I have heard bad things about the manual on the other hand, lots of people on rrorc and orr having trouble with that manual. I know mudranger had it replaced several times.
