binderbound 11-15-2005, 10:20 PM Gonna go coils and links or you staying leafy?
It will make a good winter time project.
Munchies 11-16-2005, 12:37 AM Sounds cool. I vote for coil rear 44044 front. Flexy biotch.
BLK Scout 800 11-16-2005, 07:38 AM Sounds cool. I vote for coil rear 44044 front. Flexy biotch.
I was thinking RS 63'' front and 4.5'' coil rear with graderball :flipoff2:
RustoleumWhite 11-16-2005, 07:55 AM I put ALLOT stouter of a spring that a 44044 in the front.
44044's flex well with a D44, but with that much weight hanging off them I see them broken FAST!
Go quick and dirty... 1-link/graderball suspentions front and rear. Full Hydro!. Built it stout!!!

Actually,, your right..
3 link w/ trackbar, full hydro on a 2.5'' ram minumum
robselina 11-16-2005, 10:15 AM what the heck are they? 1.5 ton rockwells? anywhere to get specs on them? Confused since they don't look like the 2.5 tons or 5 tons I'm used to seeing. How available are seals, bearings, etc? donor vehicles? In short, where can I learn about these things?
Got two broken 760s sitting in my front axle right now so I'm curious :D
BLK Scout 800 11-16-2005, 01:56 PM Well info is hard to find I do know the following
2.5 ton Rockwell this one is from a F-700
Dana 60 35spline...................................1.50'' can be both
top mount rockwell 16 spline....................1.61'' inners and outers
non top mount rockwell (mine) 35 spline.....1.75'' inners and outers
I am going to call BOYCE Equiptment today for parts quotes....
Here are a few shots of the brakes:flipoff2:
Their is a quarter between the two pistons

Binder 11-16-2005, 04:59 PM Those look like the same callipers that I recently gave away. They were on my rear D 80.....If thier like $200 each for rebuilt then thier probably the same ones.
dukguy 11-17-2005, 12:41 AM I don't know what their official name is, we just call them the nontoploading rockwells. I have a friend that has a set if anyone wants them. To some people they are gold and to others they are junk. I have no idea what makes them either. The only disadvantage I see to them is the pinion angle. The regular rockwells toploading chunk helps alleviate crazy pinion angles.

Yup...what Rick said...
DUDE...I hope you are planning on running a Pinion Brake. That is the best solution for getting rid of those boat anchor discs.
Mechanos 11-17-2005, 06:30 AM I don't know what their official name is, we just call them the nontoploading rockwells...
I believe Steve Gerstner identified them as Rockwell Model 106.

No pinion disc that is for the topload not these....The discs that are on these might be the best part and the biggest reasion I want them so bad.....well the shafts are nice to:flipoff2:
scout254 11-19-2005, 12:19 AM Hey BLKSCOUT800, have u tried to determine which u joint size/part# that u will be using on your drivelines to hook to that heavy bitch? Give me the specs of OD lockup and cap dia, I'll look in my neapco ujoint book.
http://i26.photobucket.com/albums/c101/scout254/rockwell20012.jpg
BLK Scout 800 11-19-2005, 09:15 AM 5'' :)
scout254 11-20-2005, 06:34 PM blkscout800, 5" is probably the measurement on your yoke outside lockup, but what about the ujoint cap diameter, and what drivelines are u going to keep. You gonna change your t/c output yokes to go bigger too?
BLK Scout 800 11-20-2005, 06:48 PM The cap is 1 5/8 od and 1 1/4 id
The Dana300 t-case will get the AA 32 spline outputs and Yokes will be 1350 but the 1410 would be nice :flipoff2:
Front driveline will be square again and the rear will be ??????
scout254 11-20-2005, 07:03 PM so, you will run 1350 at t/c yoke and at the drivline slip yoke, or conversion ujoint to hook the two together?
And the other near pumkin will be 5" wide od lockup with 1.63 cap diameter, but again what about the u joint size at the driveline end?
I will have you confused one of these days:p
BLK Scout 800 11-20-2005, 09:53 PM I want 1350 at the t-case(one end of DL) and the monster at the other end of the driveline..
No half and half joints :flipoff2:
My front rear drivelines will have them built in 1350 at one end and 5'' at the other.
tcase/rearend

1350 5''
