Looking at 4" lift kits for a TJ.
After serching for a while, It seems most people use or like RE. Why ?
In comparison to skyjacker, rough country and the other.
Please educate me why these kits are so popular....
thx

From what I have read the preferred is Clayton. Even if you buy the RE kit too make it a 4 link you need Clayton's RE upgrade kit. RE does not warranty their arms against bending...Clayton does, if you can bend them!
The other brands are not in the same ballpark.
The real question is what do you want to do with your rig and how big of tires do you want? Are you going to lengthen the wheelbase? Replace the factory axles?
You can go back and delete your other posts too please.

Because they work! I have had mine on for 2 weeks, best price w/ no complaints. The only other kit I would have bought was the Nth Degree L/A. It has better ground clearance, the lower arms follow the frame about 20", then angle down to the axle.

I have had my RE 3.5 inch "Super Flex" lift installed since December. It is worth every penny I paid for it! :)

heres my story. went to pismo this last week with my RE 3.5 superflex. Jumped a dune and got 6 feet of air (which is stupid beyond comprehension.) on landing i bent my front axle a bit and trashed a rear shock. Basically it was a VERY hard landing, but after a legnthy inspection the suspension suffered absoultely no harm...at all...hey if it could take that kind of punishment, why not?

I have the 5"RE kit and it seems to work very well. I of course will be moding it to some degree. In its stock form it seems to work very good.

I've beat the crap out of my RE lift for about two years on the Cali desert rocks and the Pac NW mud and trees. I haven't had any problems, and I like the ability to rebuild the superflex joints. The 4.5 superflex lift has everything needed, if you like, order it with the 3.5 springs to get your desired lift. There's a good chance you'll have driveline vibes or steering issues, be prepared to get a heavy duty SYE/DS combo and some sort of steering upgrade. The U-Turn steering system from Off Road Only is great.
