What is the WMS of a 80 series axle???
I believe that it is 63" Am I right?
Also, where is the pumpkin in relation to the axle.
Are the axle shafts any better/ worse than a 40 axle?
And they run mini birfs right?

They run a much larger birfield, & have full floater rears but you have to run coils on the front & not leafs (steering on back side of knuckle). do a search on the mini board, drew pearsson has talked alot about it there. also check the lcml archives. there should be lots of info there too.

Yeah, 63".
See the Land Cruiser FAQ (http://www.off-road.com/tlc/faq/faq.txt), section 4.2. The LCML archives and search engine are here (http://www.birfield.com/cgi-bin/wilma/landcruisers).
I measured the diff offset on my '94 FJZ80's rear axle at 7.5", IIRC.
Front axle has giant birfields and a smaller diff.

there must be a few people looking at these ;)
panzer....me.......a minitruck guy
the information above so far all looks correct to my measurments, the hubs on the 80 can be changed to mount leafs
but id run the coils and
and get an arctic kit (they run 44s) sick mate 80 series' kits from norway (or somewhere northern and fully cold, icy and swampy)
the birfs are stronger, than cruisers, and the centre is basically a hilux (minitruck) with high pinion and 4.11s
not sure on availability of HP gears though ($$$$)
