I just got it and have a few questions I couldn't find in the FAQ.
What type of headers fit best, block hugger or shorties?
What is the best way to adapt the cruisers wiring harnes to the TPI harness, or is it better to get an aftermarket acc harness already setup for a TPI conversion?
Thanks for any help. Dan

the exhaust all depends on the motor mounts and location. manifolds work well in a cruiser for many reasons, most of all cause they don;t have the tendancy to leak like headers do. if you do go with headers, see if a set of block huggers will fit. oftentimes they do.
as for the harness, you will have to run most of your stock harness in conjunction with one for the tpi. you might be able to modify the stock gm tpi harness to work in your application, or you can opt for an aftermarket stand-alone type unit available from places like howell, painless, centec, ez-wiring,.............

Block huggers will work but they get in the way of where he knock sensor is. You can move it to the back of the block above the oil filter if you do go that route. I like factory rams horn manifolds myself.
IMO its best to get a stand alone harness for the motor of modify a TPI harness.

And thanks Rusty. Is an all in one harness made for a tpi/LC swap? I do have the stock TPI harness but my cruiser harness is a mess. Most of my gauges don't work either so I had intended to replace with more up to date stuff, I kind of like the Z28 dash panel (because I really need the 140 mph speedo) because it wraps around the steering column and has everything on it. And my dash is already all cut up from someones radio install so I have to fix it anyway.

Just convert to full hydro steering and you get the same feel as 140 by going 80.

Heck my rig runs at 100mph smooth as glass, but I don't advocate running at that speed unless you got a hot date to get to....
