Guys,

Anyone got any info on diesel converters for a 98 Dodge 12 Valve Cummins...failing visual only and need something....best price I got was $600 new...need something way cheaper....needs to be 4" to boot on both sides...searched the net and found a few that supply the offroad only market but this things needs to be legal or look good....might price one out at the stealership and punch it to 4"....

If you can get your hands on a stock one, it is easy to adapt it to a 4" in/out. Stock they are 3" in, 4" out. The front is shaped like a big cone, just cut it off where you need it, and weld it up to your 4" pipe.

Correct grasshopper, thats because only the 94's had a cat, you should inform your inspection station of this tidbit.

No. Early '94s (built in '93) did not have a cat. The later '94s through the early '98s (12 valves) had a cat, then it was dropped in '98 on the 24 valves.

Random Technology makes a universal 4"in /4" out.

Can't you just get it inspected somewhere else where you "pass" the visual inspection? I just happened to "loose" mine last night, along with all of the stock exhaust, in favor of a turbo back MBRP setup. :D

Move the plate back and detune that bitch. After it's inspected move the plate even further forward and tell them :flipoff2: .

I dont think that will help him with his VISUAL inspection! :flipoff2:

I found a used one at a wrecking yard and paid $100 for it and will cut the snout and weld in the 4 inch tube...anyone know how much it will restrict it...should be a big issue as I plan on swapping it out yearly...but curious...
