: Dually rim offsets

I was wondering if anyone knew of which rims make the best choice for 235-85-16s. I had these on my O.E. wheels and the dualls touched at the bottom under heavy load. Someone told me the newer Dodges had more offset so the dualls would be spaced further apart. I was also thinking about possibly 70s ford duall rims. I seen an old ford flatbed the other day that seemed to have quite a distance between the tires. I wonder if the old ford rims would fit my 99 CTD? I know the bolt pattern is the same but the OE wheels are hub centric, not sure about the ford wheels. Any Ideas?

the 01 dodge dually came factory with 235s, so look for some 01 or 02 dodge rims. i ran 235s on my 97 dually without any problems and i grossed over 30k many times. i always keept them at 80 psi.

One of the guys on the DTR ran Ford wheels, he said they have more offset... I haven't been able to get a definite number though.

I'd bet the Ford's are lug-centric, so you'd have to get a set of lug nuts for a 1st gen Dodge...

You might look at E-350s also, we used to have a ~'95 at work that had 245/75LT16 duals stock.

Check for fit before you run out and buy a complete set of wheels. I've read that a set of '01.5-'02 Dodge wheels (rear discs) won't fit on an earlier Dodge. Personally I have never had an issue with contact between the tires on my '99 and I run 235/85R-16s on one set of stock wheels and one set of aftermarket wheels.

This might be a good option! I know someone with a 96ish E350 cube van. I might be able to work a swap, plus then I can do a test fit.
:smokin: Thanks for the Ideas. If anybody has any definate info on this please post up.;)
