: 2006 NEUROC Rumors

We are getting numerous calls and e-mails about rumors of the '06 season. This isn't set in stone, however, Ranch and I are working very hard to unify and strengthen the East Coast and bring back the enthusiasm that it had received in years past. I know everyone is under time restraints with sponsors and everyone is looking for dates and rules. Ranch has a lot on his plate right now with negotiations between him and me and transition of new partners in UROC. But we do understand the importance of getting everything done as quickly as possible and we'll be working as fast as we can to get you the information you need.

Thanks Kyle. I personally believe that the number of east coast events is hurting the sport. The number of competitors at the events was lower than ever in 2005. It sounds like this could be a good move.

Kyle, you put on the best events with the least amount of drama out of any of the series. The organization and the judging is by far the best, so how ever many you can realistically put on and still keep yourself sane, go for it.

As much as we'd all like to say "do as many as possible"...it's just not very feasable. The more events you have, the less spectators and competitors you have at each one. For example, I think there was more competitors than there was fans at the last Jellico event of the year...and that's not saying much. The entry fees would have to drop if there is a ton of events like there was this past season to keep the teams coming back and back and back again.

On a personal note:
We love NEUROC, the staff, the Mississippi man, everything about you guys Kyle. But, last year we could not see making the trek up there with two other series being ran closer to us. Our group that constantly talks amongst ourselves who compete feel like it was way too many to go around. I think we did 8 events this past year, and one of those should have been a NEUROC, but we did not have time to breathe or the money for that when the events rolled around. We'll try to make one up your way this year!

I'll second that. 10 events at Paragon!

The 2.5 hour drive vs the 10 to Jellico is what I'm talking about.

Whatever you end up doing Kyle will be great. Thanks again for stepping up to the plate.

4 plus a finals and being able to drop one is a nice combo. A poll of the locations of the previous competitors and another poll with old and new competittors would probably help you get a good idea of where to possibly place your events. I live 2 hours from paragon but I will travel 10+ hrs if nessecary to compete in what I think is going to be the best comp for me and my sponsors.
I believe Kyle is looking for serious numbers from us. Lets try to get him his info. All involved also need to be aware of the fact that it is much harder for him to put a quality event together outside of his park w/o all of his local support staff.
This all needs to be give and take from both sides:D !

What does everyone think of the one day events. I was thinking of having one this coming year

mudtruck44
11-19-2005, 01:05 PM
NO one day events. I'm not driving 12 hours to PA for one day.

I would like to see more than 4 events and I like the idea of dropping one. The only problem is I want to see everyone go to Paragon because I don't think there is another venue like it when it comes to rock "crawling".

Bmf24
11-19-2005, 02:15 PM
i think 5-6 events are about right. that puts about 1 event every month, and i like the 2 away events last year being the times they were. the begining on june at attica and late summer for the other. i think more than 1 event per month and you will loose spectators and competitors.

maybee do a special event, or one that runs at night. something diffrent.

Kyle, if you are doing one NEUROC/UROC series in the east, why not hit the big venue (Jellico, Portland, Attica, SC, and PAP) with maybe two at PAP (since it is your home turf and easier to put the quality event on there). Do one event a month Starting in May and ending in October with the finals in PA, with a drop one philosophy. This way the events are spread out for everyone, most the competitor will end up with at least one local event. Just a though (which I am sure you have already had). With Portland and SC being man made it would add some change to the series. Just my .02, no matter what I am in for next season!

I am not a fan of the 1 day event.:shaking: Way too much of a spoiler if you drove a long way(and break) and does not let us get to hang out with the other competitors as much.
A 1 day sportsmen event could be good for new blood to come check it out.
I would love to see at least 2 events at Paragon maybe the opener and the finals.

I would like to see 1 event per month, from may-september or so, and the main thing trying not to repeat venues or at least as little as possible.

mudtruck44

I wouldn't be suprised if there is not an event in Attica in 2006. I think Kyle sets up great courses here and it seems like everyone has a great time at the Badlands, but there aren't any spectators. UROC didn't come back after the 2004 season for that reason.

iam a competitor up here in ontario canada. we have only one event each year and it is not enough to get sponsors to help with the trucks and repair bills. we competed two years ago in pa and had a great time. if there were more than 3 events down their it would be great because it is only a 6 hour drive. we did attica that same year it was a 12 hour drive one way. hope to be their in 2006 for the full series. rockspyder motor sports 312

One thing I was wondering, with combining with UROC, I know they don't run a stock modified class. Will there be a stock class in UROC or NEUROC in 06?

I like being able to drop one event, so I think that should definitely stay. I think a 5-6 event series is good, with the first and last being at the home course, Paragon. I also would like to see us go to Jellico, Portland and Columbus. Attica was cool too - but just not the spectators we saw at the other events. I don't like the one day idea since it is so far for us to drive. But I did like the idea of someting at night. That would be different.

Whatever you decide, we will be there. We had a blast this year and wouldn't miss it!

if we could get the updated rules and schedule of events ASAP it would really help.

Hi Kyle,
HardLine Offroad Racing is very excited about the news!
Never competed NEUROC but have heard nothing but great things about you and your events.
I understand that with the addition of you and Glynn to the leadership team for UROC, there will be a period where things need to be worked out before it all starts running smoothly. Still, I have a couple of questions I hope will be easy :-)

1. Will the Sportsman events and Extreme East events be run at the same time and the same venues? If yes, what do you think is the max capacity for the event sites?
2. If East does a "run 5, drop 1" series this year, will the west be doing the same to be consistant?
3. We now have 4 messages boards to monitor for UROC East info: www.pirate4x4.com, www.uroceast.com, www.x-plexpark.com, and www.paragonap.com. Any plans to choose one as the "official" place to go for information on the upcoming season?

Also, if you are taking votes on sites for the '06 East season, we vote for:
---------------------------------------
Portland
Paragon
Jellico
Paragon
Portland (season finals)
---------------------------------------
Again,
Congrats on the opportunity, 2006 is gonna be a whole new game!

are there plans in the works for a series to replace neuroc if it will not be happening as planned? i don't care what it is called but i would like to have a series with a schedule (and rules) to plan for. i liked the way things were at paragon (the only event i went to) something similar would be great. we owe it to our sponsors to figure out what is going on (since we are building a jeep with their products for the neuroc series.)

No and I have been posting probably once a week on the paragon board and nothing there either.

The reason you guys aren't getting updates is because Kyle has been on vacation in Florida.

The deal fell thru. There is no merger happening anymore. I will tell you one thing, it wasn't Kyle's fault.

Pitty this negotiation has been bumpy. I believe the best thing for the east would be for Kyle and UROC to collaborate and I refuse to believe that agreement cannot be reached. Call me an optimist.

I understand the frustration that comes with uncertainty like this, but fueling those feelings in others on the internet helps nothing.

Rather than make divisive comments on "who's fault it was" (and only Kyle and Ranch will ever know the truth about that) anyone with any influence on either of the parties involved should be trying to help find common ground.

broncorob
01-09-2006, 10:02 AM
I'm not at liberty to discuss what I know. If Kyle wants to discuss it then that is his decision(sorry I can't go into it further Alan). My opinion though is that there is someone to blame and its not Kyle.

All we can do now is encourage Kyle to keep up with NEUROC atleast for a few more years. To quit now would be letting the bully win.

ps- I am only a racer and these are solely my opinions.

broncolou
01-09-2006, 10:38 AM
Don't you guys get your panties in a wad untill the parties involved decide to speak up for themselves. I know I don't like it when people decide to speak for me. Forget what you heard and lets only state facts if you are gonna make public statements. There is way too much drama in all this.:flipoff2:
I am as frustrated as the rest of you. All I know is the pro's have thier dates and the extreme guys are left sucking wind. If I could drop a WEROCK event w/o penalty they would have my deposit this week! I am still waiting to see what all the info is before I make my decision. Whatever it is, Kyles events will be included. If UROC can get on the ball that is where I want to go, but that "IF" is getting very old.
All I want to do is plan my year like everyone else!:D Did anyonre see ASSTROGLIDE on the Extreme East "must have" list?:nuke: Happy competitors come back!
