Just purchased a 4" lift from rough country today. Now moving to the tires and wheels. Planning 33" x 12.50.
What is the bolt pattern and backspacing for a 15" wheel ???
( 5 on 4.5 ??? )
thx

At least it's in the newbies section.
Your TJ has a 5 x 4 1/2 bolt pattern. The backspacing of any new rims you buy will vary depending on what the manufacturer offers but usually around 3.75-4". Start snooping around online and you'll figure it out pretty quick.

what he said. But, if you're doing a 4" lift, why not go with 35's? A 4" lift + 1" of body lift should be enough for 35's. Better yet, break out the sawzall! Just be easy on those axles - even with 33's...

I want to make sure there will be no rubbing off road. 35's won't rub ?
What about backspacing on the 33 rims? 3.5 or 4.0 ?
thanks for the help...

You just picked up the 4" lift for your TJ so I'm assuming you are going from stock 30"? to either 33" or 35" tires. Do you have any plans to change gear ratios? Dana 44 or 35c rear axle? SYE? Sway bar discos? ect ect.
Based on the questions you have asked don't be in such a hurry. Spend some time reading the board and learn to use the search function granted you probably wont find many answers to "what size tire fits?" on this board. Maybe hook up with a local club or talk with people in your area with similar rigs to get a feel for what dose or dosn't work.
I ran into somebody the other day with a 04 TJ running a 3"+ body lift, and budget suspension lift to clear 36" swampers....no sye, stock gears, 30/35c ect ect :shaking:
Don't be that guy on the trail

Spend some time on the trail too. Something I see all-too-often is that people buy a stock rig and then have it on 35's with lockers f/r before ever taking it out. There's a lot to be said for wheelin a stocker for awhile. It will really improve your driving technique and, quite frankly, can be a whole lot of fun! Rocker panel protection is the exception here... that's something you're better off getting ASAP.
BTW, I obviously do not know your history with this truck. For all I know you have been wheelin it like this for years and have just now decided to upgrade. Just stating a general opinion.

I am thinking 33's. Order 4'lift x from rough country. Did upgrade gears to 3.55because I had them. I realize 4.10 is optium, and will come later. Axles are planned. I have plenty of those around.( parts cars / dealer ). 35's could be an option , if I find a good set locally. But I prefer 33's. No SYE planned now. Everything should be done next week, maybe I won't need one ?
I am planning to join a club when I'm finished. I agree, that should help me....
Thanks for the response....
