I can hardly wait. Marks opinion on the FJ Cruiser. That will be productive with our relationship with Toyota.

Try not to write anything too critical about Toyota or the FJ Cruiser, as your article won't be published.

Not bitter at all, Todd. I actually understand your position. You need advertising $$ to keep the magazine in production. Those $$ help pay the bills.

But from my point of view, I would rather go back to the stapled together photocopied pages, then censor articles to avoid upsetting advertisers.

To each his own.

So????? Mark, what did you think of the new FJ?

The event was VERY INTERESTING. I've never been to anything like a new vehicle intro before, so I really didn't have much to guage it against. It was nice to have a few familiar faces with me, as well as to see a few there. I did a full write-up for the Toyota Trails so, assuming it will be accepted, you will get the full report when it is published.

I'll post up some of my low-resolution pics when I get a chance.

I should have worn sandals, the weather was SO NICE!

And I could have brought the guitar, but it would have been more than a little conspicuous.

Oh yeah, and the FJ...........................I'll pass!

Here's a distance shot to give you an idea of the setting:

Not sure what was in the mystery box, or if it was just simulated cargo. Perhaps a subliminal message!:smokin:

This shot didn't come out so great, but hopefully you can see that there is quite a bit of room in the wheelwells, and we all know what that means!

The suicide doors act kind of like a shoe horn to help the second row passengers squeak past the front seats when they are pushed back, i.e. there ain't a lot of room there.

Ground clearance is pretty good for a vehicle this size. I think in it's stock format it has almost as much ground clearance as my SUA 45 on 32s! I know that doesn't mean much to you Pirate guys, but that prolly goes a long way to helping explain how one of these got thru the Rubicon.

It just makes me laugh that everything Mark writes he expects you to drop everything and print it and then he gives the whole thing away 3 minutes later on Pirate.

Funny.

Yeah, funny if you didn't spend an hour editing the article last night. That's an hour I could have spent with my kids. Total waste of time.

Hey Ian, you need to deal with this BS on a regular basis before you jump in and tell people how to do their job. There is much more to this story than is here on the board and I would like to keep it that way.

I agree. I think TT should publish an article bashing the new FJ. I also think that a Cruiser purist needs to write one bashing hard-core wheelers, a tube buggy owner should write one bashing purists, a 40 owner should write one bashing wagons etc.

Todd should publish all of these, hell, everytime they are submitted. I think TT would be more successful if it let all past, current and future Toyota owners know that their rigs are shit.
