has anybody ever broken the steering amr off a late D30 front?

has anybody tweaked their frame where the steering gearbox mounts?

i built a tie rod from bar stock, works out great but caused (not totally sure on that)me to bend my trac bar (TJ i have to have one). so i built a tracbar from bar stock then bent my draglink, now ive swapped all the steering stuff back from junkyard parts i left the new tracbar be.

im wondering how stout should i make that linkage before im breaking stuff i dont want to break.

Personally I like the drag link as the weak trail link. It is the smallest and least expensive part. It is easy to carry a spare and change on the trail. If there is a OBW on the trail you can reinforce it if you bend it with a piece of stock and keep going. Just $.02.
