I'm pretty sure he doesn't use vendors. I think his stuff is all in house.

if ur going to spend that money buy a better kit than rustys .... a clayton kit isnt much more and its a billion times better

Don't buy that kit. Unless you like welds that are more porosity than anything else.

Their customer service is pretty bad, quality control can also be an issue.

but i dont have over a grand to spend on a 4.5 MJ kit that wont last me for more than 3 years. RE wants 1160.95 for a 5 inch kit. should i just buy front end parts and do the soa rear by myself?

Yea I was looking at the Rusty's kits also but I decided to spend the extra buck and get the RE 4.5" kit. I wish Clayton had short arm lifts.

Why not do the soa yourself? You'll need to do some grinding and welding
Perches and shock mounts are cheap
Extended brake lines, new u bolts
You might even want to put in a good rear end while you're at it
The front is just xj stuff.
I'm planning on front leafs for my mj, soa rear, just collecting parts now.

I just wanted to say that i have been running a 4 1/2 " Rusty's lift on my YJ for 2 years with no issues and i'm very happy with it. But this is leaves not coils.

I personally have not had a problem with Rusty. I ordered a set of coild spacers (not much to mess up there) and his hydro shocks. I didn't have a problem with the shock, in fact they road a little better than my current Doestechs. He always had my parts to me in 3-5 business days by UPS. I have had a couple friends to have problems with his shipping though and an XJ lift. The XJ lift did not seem to last as long as it should have. It sagged faster than I would expect on a mildly used rig. Overall, some of his stuff is quality and some of it could be done a lot better.

I ordered a set of TJ suspention brackets and Rusty himself told me "they'll ship at the end of the week" for 2 months. When I finally did get them, the coil mounts were only half built :mad3: I've heard lots of other stories too....

I ran his six in lift on my xj for about 2 years before I sold it. It was ok and some parts could have had a little more thought put into them.the only problem I had was the rear springs were way to stiff. I think they were the wrong ones. Gave the right amount of lift but I had to pry the heck out of them to get them to line up with the rear shackle bolt holes. Then it rode like a chuck board untill I would put about 200 lbs of stuff in the rear of the xj.
