: adjusting proportioning for rear disk?

I just put in a 8.8. with disks (Thanks to BigDude), is there a way to easily adjust the rear brake proportioning without putting in a adjustable proportioning valve? I've heard mentions of removing an o-ring in master cylinder. The brakes are pretty good, but could use a little more flow to the rear.

The o-ring most people mess with is in the combination valve on YJ's and TJ's. One the end of the valve is a plastic cap that pops off. Under it is a bolt. Use a pair of pliers or crescent wrench to hold the combo valve in place (so you don't bend the lines) and unbolt that bolt on the end. Inside is a rod and spring. Make sure the spring doesn't shoot off. On the end of the rod is a plastic/rubber o-ring that is easily taken off. Remove it and close it up. If the rod doesn't come out you may need a pair of needle nose pliers to grab it.

Yep, exactly what I did on my YJ and dramatically increased the pressure and volume to my rear brakes.

The directions listed above are about as descriptive as you can get. Follow them exactly and you will be completely successful.

Cant see why not. I have a GM60 front and a Ford 70 rear with GM 1/2 ton calipers in my YJ.

Stupid questions time:
Did you have to bleed anything afterwards?

I bled my whole system after that. Front and rear, because air got into the system, obviously. I must say, my braking power increased big time too.

Thanks. I guess I have a use for all of that brake fluid I bought then. I'll be doing this next week. Might finally get all of the power I am supposed to have.
