: 2006 spotter for Becca
RedBullJeep 11-22-2005, 05:26 PM We're making some decisions in the next few weeks about our team structure and are looking for a spotter for Becca for the entire WE Rock Western Series, plus WE Rock Grand Nationals, and WERock World Finals for 2006.
That is a total of 6 events.
Here's the scoop...we're looking for a PROVEN spotter that has their strength in the strategy and communication area. "Proven" means you have had at least a season as a competition spotter and have shown your expertise in making the decisions about what course line actually works for a certain vehicle. Some spotters have their strength in stacking a course or showing strong work on the end of a rope but for Becca, that isn't what she needs.
So you know, RJ cannot return to spot Becca as he'll be driving against her and obviously Lil Rich can't spot when he's designing the course and marshalling the events. We'll miss working with both of them as they each added a value to the team that is tough to lose.
There is pay, fringe benifits, and expense money...but that comes later in this discussion.
PM me, e-mail me, or post up here...we're putting a list together now.
RP Films 11-22-2005, 05:29 PM My Vote is for Nate. He is a TOP Notch Spotter and would love to spot for a team that is Dedicated as you guys. He should be at the top of the list!
TONY K 11-22-2005, 05:33 PM Or Pepper. I know he's available for next season. 208 323 4275. He eats alot so be prepared for a large food budget. But he'll stay awake for 60 straight hours without the help of anything more then a Red Bull or Mt Dew so he's a great team driver. He thinks he can drive so that kinda a minus :)
jeep_people 01-27-2006, 01:32 PM Spill the beans everybody wants to know whothe newest redbull team member will be!!!!
RedBullJeep 01-27-2006, 01:56 PM Undecided...it is down to three people and might end up being a combination of two...We're waiting on some "career" decisions by all three of them but got an interesting call the other day that may change things.
I hope this info helps:flipoff2:
Rudezuk 01-27-2006, 02:03 PM I second the idea of Pepper, Dustin! He would be an excellent spotter for Becca! Look how well he did with Amber at the womens event.....
1uglyranger 01-28-2006, 10:52 AM How bout a vote for Aaron Goodrich..... I know he would take the job:cool2:
RedBullJeep 01-28-2006, 11:38 AM The guy that called the other day was a "good" guy Brian...funny you should comment now. That call made us stop and think...we decided we had narrowed it to three and now we've bumped it up to four we are looking at. All are amazing within the sport and either way we end up going, it'll be an AMAZING season. Think about it...she's never competed on stickeys and now she'll have the best stickey out there. She'll be in a new crawler that will be lighter and with a lower CG than her current crawler, but still with the same layout...and finally, she'll be coming off a spring schedule full of practice time. The combo of any one of those spotters with all of the "upgrades", should make her team dangerous.

RedBullJeep 01-31-2006, 08:02 PM Red Bull RockCrawlers Welcome Peter Wells To The Team
After three years of competition success, Becca Webster of the Red Bull RockCrawling Team found herself without a spotter for the 06 season. A large number of talented spotters interviewed for the position and after a long deliberation, Peter Wells was chosen to lead Becca in her Pro Modified RockCrawler, the Red Bull RockHer.
Peter began his rockcrawling career in 2001. In 2003, he wowed the sport with the introduction of his innovative competition buggy nicknamed “Mountain Goat”. Peter made his mark as a driver with his brother, Frank Wells leading the way as his spotter. Over a number of events, Peter became known for his techniques and tactics that were clearly outside the box. His skill as a strategist was the one point that held him above the others when Becca interviewed the many applicants. Pat Gallagher of RP Films gave testimony to Peter’s skill with, “I watch teams all day as I film and edit my DVD’s for the Haulin or Crawlin series…NOBODY impresses me in the strategy department more than Peter Wells!”
Though Peter will continue his driving in the XRRA Rock Racing series where he and his brother will defend their 2005 title, Peter is looking forward to leading Becca as her spotter in the 2006 WE Rock series. Her success with a third place finish in the 05 WE Rock Western National Series plus her two big wins at the 05 ProRock Women’s Nationals and 05 WE Rock Australian Nationals, only lays the groundwork for a great 06. Becca is looking forward to this season as she will be driving a brand new Pro Modified crawler fabricated by Blue Torch Fabworks, as well as running on a brand new set of 37x13.5x17 Super Stickey Pro Comp X Terrains. Until now, she has been holding her own on DOT tires against a field full of advantageous “stickey” tires. The new lighter high tech crawler and high tech X Terrain tires will give her equal footing and the addition of the biggest asset, Peter, brings a prediction of success on the rocks!
Getting ready for the season, Peter has made the move to the Phoenix area and joined Campbell Enterprises as a fabricator and mechanic. A comfortable fit as the Red Bull team has a history of friendship and business with the world renowned Campbells.
Welcome to the team Peter!
.
RedBullJeep 01-31-2006, 08:06 PM And to Pepper, Goody, Kevin, and the many who inquired, we truly appreciate your time and openness to working with out team. It was a TOUGH decision.
Best of luck to all of you in 06!
