I just bough a 95 TJ project jeep.

It was already lifted 6 inches and has a coil conversion on it.

It performs great off road, but on the road, once I get up to about 45mph, it starts to dance all over the road.

Ive had several shops look at it, and a 4x4 shop looked at it, and they can see nothing wrong with the front, and are stumped.

Someone mentioned that the rear may be "twisting" and making the rear end dance around making the jeep hard to control.

Is this a common issue with coil conversions?

First off, there is no such thing as a 95 TJ and TJ's dont need coil conversions, they already have em'

I am no genious but I am guessing you have a 95' YJ with a coil conversion. What kind of kit is on it, home made or Black Diamond? Dance all over the road, you mean the truck steers left to right or does it just have a shake in the frontend that you feel in the wheel like the tires being imbalanced?

y & t are next to each other so its probly a typo, i do it all the time. but that is wierd. my guess would be the shocks are going bad. my friend has a ranger 250 and the shocks are bad so his truck always bounces around once he hits 40 so he drives at like 45 top, lol.

shocks, trac bar, tires, alignment, could be a lot of things. Front coils & rear leaves? Custom or kit conversion?

Sounds like a bit too much coil for the length of the arm. Is the pinion pointed at the tcase output? See if an alignment shop will do you a favor and throw it on the rack. Might have to strike a deal to get it up there due to your non-stock setup. I would bet you have a combination of incorrect caster compounded by incorrect toe-in. Your tire ballance can also contribute to this problem. I am not too familiar with your setup, but if the brackets were not put on correctly, or the axle was rotated for driveshaft angle, the inclination of the king pins/ ball joints (depending on what you have) may have been changed. This is usually the first cause of death wobble.

A bit more info on your setup would help a great deal here.

Tire unbalance can cause a lot of shaking. Are you sure nothing is loose? Out of round Interco tires maybe?

The tires have all been balances and nothing is wrong with the front end. There is no shaking, the wrangler just wont stay straight on the highway.

Sounds like it has too much of a caster angle.

Sounds like it has too much of a caster angle.

ditto that. 6" needs a long arm, castor correction and more...

it probably already long arms on it if it was a conversion on a yj. You need to give us way more info on your suspension before conclusions are jumped to.
