: TUBE BENDERS 4 Sale Sites? Anyone?
Toonces75 11-23-2005, 03:22 PM  Hey, Could anyone tell some good places to buy a tube bender. Dont know exactly what size I want, or even if I want a manual or hydraulic. I have done a lot of looking, just looking to see if I am missing some good place to find them. Input would be appreciated. I have looked at Mike Green and Pro-Tools they are nice but I want to compare to some other ones before I buy. Thanks

Toonces75 11-23-2005, 03:28 PM Been there, but thanks MR. Obvious, I am just looking for other ideas or Web sites. Thanks.
cebby 11-23-2005, 04:24 PM Look at JD2 and Mtech also. They all have comparable models.
LittleBlackSambo 11-23-2005, 07:48 PM i would have to lean towards RMD or ercolina for the job shop benders. baileigh has the best manual bender i've found.
Reflexx 11-23-2005, 08:25 PM Just got done building one from www.gottrikes.com. Added an air/hydro ram and it's bitchen! Will post pics soon.
1.5" tube, .134 wall, 90 degree in about 45 seconds and no pumping or cranking. the bends look PERFECT. no creasing, no scratching. 99% mandrel quality, i was surprised.

bikebumIII 11-23-2005, 09:17 PM I have tried all those sites to. I finally made a decesion recently and ended up going through Mike. He hasd the best customer service that I have ever had, I actually still talk to him. He will help you out with what you can afford and get it to you right away. go with him. I got all the protools stuff, bender, notcher, all accessories, 2 dies, and like them alot. Hope this helps.
Toonces75 11-24-2005, 03:25 PM I guess the main thing I am trying to accomplish is trying to build my CJ-7 cage and bumpers. I have been welding for about 5 months now. Using a torch and such for about 3 months. I am of course a beginner, trying to gain knowledge from people already down the road I am traveling with my build. I have learned more off Pirate in the last month than ever from Magazines or TV or any class I have taken. I am sure I will foul up several 100$ in Tubing but I want to learn......Thanks again to all........Happy Thanksgiving!:)

Then why not buy from a pbb vendor. 1, you'll usually find the best deals for benders on the net right here..2, you're supporting the board. And 3, the vendors are here to give you support also. How about you search through the 100 "which bender is better" or "which bender should I buy" and decide for yourself?

I can help avoid this with some of the products I offer.
Gummi Bear 11-24-2005, 11:20 PM I know you already mentioned it, but Mike Green is a really great guy to deal with. Good prices to boot.

Merc69 11-25-2005, 03:54 PM There are several benders out there most are the same or simmilar design to the JD2 benders. I have used a model 3 bender for several years. The cost of the bender is just a start, dies are the thing that sets you back. Plan on spending around $1,000.00 for a bender, 2 die sets, stand and degree wheel. I also recommend checking out the Bend-Tech software. I have used the Bendtech-EZ and have decided while it works very well I am waiting for December and the release of the newest incarnation of their vodoo and black majic.
