Is disconnecting/taking off the sway bar on IFS a good idea when wheeling?

Most people find that IFS will articualte better with the sway bar disconnected. Its definitely helps on ZR2 pickups and Blazers.

Yes .... remove it. My trooper flexes much better without anti-sway bars

Step 1 - Remove sway bar

Step 2 (optional) - Cut it into pieces

Step 3 - Throw it in the trash and forget it was ever there.

I have taken them off everything I have ever driven.Just stops flex and and stiffens the ride up.

IMHO, no need for a rear sway bar in any situation. I find that on the curvy, dippy Indianapolis interstate system, my truck is noticibly less stable feeling with the front sway bar unhooked. In the 10 minutes it takes me to connect/disconnect it; its worth it to me to leave it on for the street and unhook it for the trail. I'd suggest you unhook yours and then do your normal driving routine for a week. If it feels fine, leave it off for good... but definitely pop it off for the trail.

all depends on the shocks and springs leaving the bar off while street driving

my lifted sammi never had swaybars and never needed them on the road

my stock sammi would make me need a change of underwear on the street, the leafsprings and shocks were way too soft

Get rid of it.
