I've got a buddy with a 4.0 TJ running the banks header. From his comments and banks' reputation I feel it would be the best header for me to run, but since i only have a 2.5l YJ i didn't know if it was truly necessary for such a high caliber header. I know borla is a popular brand, but have never dealt with a borla product and have heard that their headers tend to warp. I was just wondering if there were any other recomendations and was unsure if the banks headers would be overkill for the little 4 cyl. Dont know if all this info is necessary for a decision but i'm runnin 33's, with a flowmaster muffler, open element air filter, 4.0 throttlebody with spacer, and currently not cat (it's on the to-do list). Any in put would be greatly appreciated.

why, trying to get horsepower from the 2.5L is like trying to beat an ugly girl pretty, it ain't going to happen.

Because right now i'm stuck with the 2.5l and have a cracked exhaust manifold... if i'm going to replace it, i figured i should spend a lil more $$ and get something a lil better built and squeeze a little more power.

Save your cash, get a stock manifold. If you buy a cheap header you will be back in the same situation before long, and with a high quality expensive header you are still not getting any bang for your buck. With the exception of an inertia ring i would not spend any more money on a 2.5L than i would have to just to keep it running. Keep saving for an engine swap or another jeep with a 6 cyl already in it. You will be happier in the long run.

Find a replacement at the junkyard and save your money for an engine upgrade. You will most likely loose low end power with a header which you do not have much of to begin with.
Edit: The Black Sheep beat me to it!

I have my stock exhaust manifold I'll sell you for $40 + shipping. I had a 94 2.5L also. Its perfectly fine, its just that I replaced the stock manifold for some borla's
