i've decided to put 79 bronco axles under my XJ, i've already got the front d44 for free, and i have found a 9" housing (no center section or axleshafts.

i'd like to find a complete 9" rear that is identical to the 79 bronco rear, (the spring perches are the right width for the XJ) but if i can't find a complete one, a cheap source for all the parts would be greatly appreciated.

also, what gears would i expect to find in the stock bronco axles already?

Most likely they'll be 3.54's.

Any axles from '78/'79 trucks will work for sure.. and likely ones from '75 up to '83..

U-pull it yards will usually let a complete truck rear end go for about 50 to 100 bucks (Colorado), and 9" rear ends are fairly common.. :p
