: 89 bronco axles....limited slips/posi trac?
jeepn58 11-27-2005, 09:06 PM I ran into this redneck that says his STOCK 89 bronco II has limited slip/ posi-trac in both front and rear axles! Rather than argue with him, I figured I would do some research and find out. Well i can't find anything on this; will someone please help?
Jrod-13 11-27-2005, 11:02 PM not sure about in 89' but yes, they could be ordered with a track loc in both ends.
BUZZISCRAZY2 11-28-2005, 05:09 AM Never seen a stock LOC in a front.......
BUZZ :jester:
Msupertek 11-28-2005, 07:04 AM Well I have never heard of that before and I have been a technician for Ford for 9 yrs. I checked our service manuals (back to 1980 ) and from what I can tell by talking to the old timers and looking in the manual, Ford hasn't had a front limited slip or locking diff set up since about 1970. We are all pretty sure about that. He's pulling your chain or someone has installed a aftermarket limited slip in it.

I would like to know how you got your info. I don't want to sound dumb.

If anyone has personal experience with the bronco II and would like to shed more light on the matter, I would appreciate it.

Thanks for your reponse. I believe you, but i want to know exactly were i can send this guy to prove it. Also, can i just jack up the front end, and spin one tire, and if the other tire spins the same direction, then its locked ( in some form). Is that correct?
The bronco II looks totally stock, so could i show him that way?
