How about posting a few more times? :flipoff2:
An idea. How about a "gift certificate" for the $700 and then you add some more money to it? Might get yourself a better setup that way.

I don't think you'll be able to do a good hydraulic setup for that money. If you factor in the cost of a die set and materials for making a stand/handle/etc, you may end up spending $700 on just a manual bender.
If I were you, I would buy a manual bender and a set of dies, then save up later for a hydro conversion.

i paied around 900 bucks for my pump and ram let alone the bender and dies
I'll second the gift certificate route with you adding some additinal money to get a good foundation going (manual bender). Research hydro setups and convert it later when you've accumulated some additional bucks.
Alternatively, if you can fab............. Check the recent thread on the home made setup using a pro-tools die.

Don't buy the hydro, learn by hand.
Get the hydro next x-mas.

I was thinking of doing the exact same thing.
But after doing some more research alot of people say the air over hydro setups are really slow and take a ton of air.
How is the speed of Your setup?
What kind of compressor do You have?
Im not looking to bend 90's in 2 seconds.....
But I'd hope its alot faster than doing it by hand, and I dont want to listen to My compressor going off every other minn.

Matt,
It took like 100 pumps to do a 90 in 1/2" tube, taht was hell. With the air/hydro it took about a minute and NO PUMPING. Just hooked up the air hose and squeeze. the nice thing about it being relatively "slow" is that you can sneak up on bend angles and get perfect duplicate bends!
Haven't used it enough to tell you the air useage, but I've got an 80 gallon tank.

PS- I hope to post pics real soon (it's not finished yet, nor is it at my shop)
