What is the visual difference between these 2 for identification purposes? Can you identify the following axle?

Looks like a 60 to me. I just went out and looked at our 3/4 ton Ford delivery trucks that have the steerling axle and yours does look similar but I am pretty sure you have a 60. BTW why would it have a Dana stamp if if was a steerling?

My vote is for 10.25 because of the slide off drums and the Vehicle speed sensor. I have not seen a 60 with slide off drums but I have never claimed to know everything about trucks either.

Definitely wasn't thinking. Dana is kind of a good indicator.

That's definitely not a 10.25. 60. You could also identify a 10.25 as it has additional "trussing" on each side of the diff.

Thanks Brawler!

That's gotta be a 60.

70's have more webbing all the way around. Trust me I know because I have been trimming that extra webbing off the bottom of the diff with a sawzall. :D

i will bet the farm that is a dana 60.

A ford sterling has a bit of a rounded "hill-looking" thing on the passanger side of it (if you are looking at it from behind), very distinct lip.

you guys call youselves 'wheelers? my GF can pick out a rear diff, identify it and tell you if it is FF or not:D and she drives a Civic!:flipoff2:

Hey Zakk is right, his girlfriend noticed my 1.5" diameter shaft right off the bat! :flipoff2: :D

I love your sig Zakk. Very nice! That would make some tree hugger pass out if they read that. That would be a great bumper sticker.
