Will a 205 from behind a c6 bolt onto a np435??
I ask because I'm going to check out a 435 and 205 tomorrow and he said the 205 came behind an auto and he just had to shorten the shifter rod to make them work together.
I want to know what to look for, like whether or not he had this rigged together (they're apart now). Thankya:D :D

You'll need the adapter for the 435, shouldn't be hard to find one... lots of Ford Trucks came with a 435. What transfer case you have now? Chances are it'll bolt right in place. All the Ford transfer cases used the same circular bolt pattern, but the 205 needs to have a Notch for the shifter linkage.

There are 2 output shaft sizes on NP435's. 28 and 31 spline. The 205's require a 31 spline output shaft. If you were to use a dana 20 t/c you would need the 28 spline output shaft. There are also 2 tailhousing/ adapter bolt patterns. A "square" pattern, and an "A" pattern(top bolts closer together than bottom". To top it all off, there are 2 different input shaft lengths. I believe 6.5" is the most common and prefered.
I don't know much about the NP205's. I would think they would all be interchangeable witht he correct adapter though.

435's also came divorced from the 205's up until 77 ;)

Picked them up today. The 435 came with the adapter and the 205 was from behind a c6. They bolt together perfect. Thanks
