: d60 swap need help

i got a 60 front with 456s out of a 85 dually one ton, already converted dually hubs to single wheel, just need to know if i can still use my front drive shaft i already have or get a new one? what ujoint do i need? and what steering parts to use, my draglink, or the one i got with the 60?any other info would be apperciated going to do this swap this weekend on my 79 shortbed with 3/4 axles now it has 6" lift what mods to steering? thanks:roxy:

You should be able to use the same drive shaft if you get a cross over ujoint or change yokes. You might be ok with the length, the 60's yoke will stick out farther but with the lift it might compensate enough. The steering is something you'll probably have to deal with when it's in the truck and you can see what your dealing with. You might also compare your stock setup with a truck with a 60 and see which components are different.

BTW, Unless your thanking Roxy, I wouldn't use ":roxy:" its reserved for :roxy:'s use. (the board mom)

I think the 3/4 ton and the one ton use the same 1350 spicer u-joints.

I had a 1310 u joint on mine. if you have a lift--the steering needs to be corrected by a lifted steering block or dropped pitman arm. i had both and used the dropped pitman arm because the extra leverage on longer king pin bolts bothered me.
