: Don't buy from thepartsbin.com
79F150 11-28-2005, 05:38 PM This is what they did. They mispriced their lift SkyJacker 184BKS which is normally $1000 but they prised it at $160.79 and when I ordered it they told me in stock be here in 5 to 7 business days. I was like awsome!!!! Well today I never got my email saying it had been charged so I called and they had deleted the order and said it was out of stock. The bad part is it is still advertised at that price. I think they should have to make good....

chris1044 11-28-2005, 06:11 PM when it's too good to be true - it usually is, but I agree they should have to hold to that price, kinda like 4wp did a year or two ago with the tow straps for 10 bucks a pop....
JoeBlow 11-28-2005, 09:42 PM Since they took your order and told you it would ship at that price they need to take the loss. Otherwise if it is obivously a typo then they don't need to honor it.
79F150 11-29-2005, 07:49 AM Oh yeah here is one of their sister sites that they said yeah it is in stock took my card info and said it will be on it's way.

NetBSD 11-29-2005, 08:14 AM yeah i think they are a lil messed up, even a 9" lift for my pickup is at $900 when i looked up a 6" it was like 1,200 last time
70cyclone 11-29-2005, 09:14 AM they took my money too...will be interesting to see what they do about it:flipoff2:
welndmn 11-29-2005, 01:07 PM look around their website, I am sure they have a clause saying "All prices are subject to change"

I don't think that applies to orders already taken and paid for. Could you imagine what would happen if businesses were allowed to change prices after they take your order!
79F150 11-29-2005, 02:35 PM I may have got an order to go through... We will see.. This is the email I got...
As a result of high demand, the S97184BKS___________ is/are being shipped directly from the manufacturer. Please allow approximately 10-14 business days for shipment.
If you have multiple parts on your order, the remainder of the order will ship as previously scheduled.
We apologize for any inconvenience. Thank you for your business.

Right, they can't charge you for that higher price, but they can either call you and advise you of the higher price before they charge you, or just cancel your order.

masterbeavis 11-30-2005, 10:38 PM Heh, I placed an order once with jeffsbroncograveyard for a completley rebuilt '79 HP44 axle for $0.00. I got a call the next day from a pissed and irritated sounding salesman saying there is no $0.00 axles, it was a typo, I repeat there is no free axles yada yada yada......
If a site makes a typo, takes your money, realizes the mistake, are they wrong for canceling your order and refunding your money? And are you wrong for trying to take advantage of somebodys mistake??

Aint that the truth
They ''should'' honor their price if they took the order.. If it was a typo or an error on their part and yet after plenty of time to correct it, on not one but two different sites they still have it listed for that price.. If they haven't changed it and refuse to honor the price it must be the ole' bait and switch routine.. They get your order and then when they change it to a higher price they figure you will say OK send it anyway..
As mentioned they might have a clause that won't make them liable for a misprint price and they can cancel your order.. That happened a couple times on here when people placed an order thru Amazon.com for some Leatherman's.. Amazon had that clause and they gave the choice of paying more or they would cancel it.. It will be interesting on how this one plays out..

Yes, that will never hold up in court. We were just talking about this in my Business Law class. It would be fine if you were incompetant on the worth, but if a party took you to court over it and could prove you knew that it was worth more the judge would easily award the party the benefit of the bargain. Which would be the actual value of the item plus the value you paid.
