luk, ram or centerforce? for a 94 mazda "ranger" with the 4.0, 5 spd (mazda i think) and 4x4 (duh).

I can get a luk kit for 210, ram for 199 and centerforce for like 250 or something.

Centerforce uses the luk pressure plates. According to their tech guy, they then modify the pivots and add the weights (in most applications but some don't have room). Since I run a Ford engine with a Dodge tranny, I have fun buying clutch parts however Centerforce will sell their Centerforce II stuff as components, not just kits. This allows me to run a Ford pressure plate, Chevy disc (which matches the Dodge input spline pattern).

I had a Luk before and always thought that the Centerforce were just very well marketed versions of the same thing with a gimmick thrown in for good measure. Now that I'm running a Centerforce II, I must say that I'm very happy with it...more so than the Luk before it. Very smooth and positive engagement.

Just bought autozone brand for $130.. A clutch is a clutch unless youre racing.
