scatterbrain 11-28-2005, 09:31 PM A buddy of mine wants to pull out his 4.6 and put a 460 in it's place. does anyone make an adapter for a '97 f-150? neither advance or L&L show one in their catalogs, or i can't find it in them. I know its a few years away for me, but you gotta do your research on things like these. New X-members will probably be needed...heavy duty ones as well. And depending on the HP and TQ numbers...extra ones to keep the frame from twisting. I plan to use This (http://www.fordracingparts.com/crateengine/bigblock.asp) crate engine (the middle one). One of These (http://www.broaderperformance.com/c6_transmissions.htm) C6 transmissions. Probably the 700HP rated street/strip C6. I already know that I will have to get custom x-members and engine mounts put in. The biggest question, is what to do with the '97's computer? Probably just have to ditch it and re-wire almost everything. SuperDuty axles will be swapped in with a small lift ( to fit 33-35's). I doubt the 8.8 and CV-joints will handle 550-600 HP & TQ.
