OK, ready to head out to Moab, but now I have a huge issue. I have never been to Moab. The trails I have selected for the EJS are rated 3.5 and 4. Ineed to know if I can make trails rated like this with open diffs front and rear. The compressor has failed for the ARB and I will not be able to get a new one and have it intsalled before leaving. Thanks in advance.

Buy a 20 dollar emergancy cigarette lighter compressor for 20 bucks at Walmart. Make sure you get one with a gauge. Run both of your air lines from your diffs into the cab next to the drivers seat and attatch them to your new cheapy compressor. When you want lockers just flip the switch on your compressor and watch the guage until it reads 90 pounds, then flip the switch off (DO NOT GO OVER 90 PSI OR YOU WILL BLOW YOUR SEALS). When you want open diffs again just disconnect from the compressor. If you are gonna continue to run ARBs you are gonna have to learn to IMPROVISE!!! What trails did you sign up for? I can tell ya if you can do em with open diffs.

Ghettorigs Idea is a Very Good one that will work!
Good Idea Man!!!
Oh yeah, and i second that if you run ARB's you have to learn to improvise and work on them and such. A lot of my buddies have problems with theirs (seals, actuators, etc...)
Good Luck in Moab!!

Here's a similar, but I think easier way.
I have one of those portables that you can set a pressure & it will automatically turn off when that pressure is reached. If your ARB compressor is like mine, it has a couple of unused ports on it's tiny tank. Make a peice of hose that goes into the tank with a tire valve on the other end. Just hook up the portable & check that it's shutting off @ the correct pressure. No messing with ARB lines or manual control.
If you can't find one w/ a pressure shutoff you can borrow mine. Actually, I may have everything you need. E-mail me if you want it.
My ARB compressor does'nt build enough pressure to shut off, so I just unplugged it & plumbed the York into it. The ARB still makes enough pressure to engage the lockers so it's a backup if the York ever quits & I carry the portable for another bakup.
hope this helps

You can do all those trails with open diffs you just have to know the right lines! Have fun..we did a year ago!

I agree with TJ chick, did those (and more) last Sept.with a rig in our group running open. Some lines took a few attemps, but he stayed off the strap till Hell's Revenge, and the big sandy climb at the start of Fins and Things was a big winch fest, couldn't strap him up it, I just kept sinking in all that loose sand:D you'll have a blast, don't sweat it:skull:

I have run all of those trails except moab rim and flat Iron Mesa in a basically stock YJ. Only mods to it were a suspention lift and 33 inch tires... You may need a strap in a couple of places but you will be fine if you cant jimmy rig the ARB'S.... The 12 volt baby pump thing works well thoagh.
