: D44 TTB 8 lug swap brake question

I'm doing an 8 lug swap on my 96 Bronco and have overcome all of the "Oh Crap" issues so far, but I'm stuck on the brake hose (no pun intended)! I have read that others have used the stock Bronco brake hoses with no problem, but mine won't fit on the Chevy caliper. Any one have any insight on if I should use Chevy brake hoses or older Ford brake hoses?

buy a different banjo bolt.

It's not just the banjo bolt that I need to replace, the casting on the caliper is raised up in an almost complete circle. The brake hose caliper mounting end has an inverted "L", so it phyisically won't fit. I supose I could do some creative grinding and make it fit.

I thought there was a banjo bolt that made to also fit over the caliper and then the older ford lines fit.

If not just use the chevy hoses.

The Ford banjo bolt is a fine thread, and the Chevy caliper is a corse metric thread. I bought new banjo bolts, and ground down the raised casting on the caliper, ground down the small "L" portion on the brake hose, and drilled out the brake hose banjo bolt end (the Chevy banjo bolt was just a bit too big). After the three modifications and the new banjo bolt, it all fit together like a glove.

Also, FYI, the knuckles with ABS have 5 spindle studs, not 6. I hade to get knuckles off of an 85 Bronco.

some ford stuff had 5 stud spindles, some 6. It was the luck of the draw on what you recieved.

If I hadn't of spent an ass ton of money on my 44ttb doing the lift, then I would have gone with soemthing like that, or a SAS. I apreciate the offer, but I'm going to stick with my 44.

there is no point in swapping 5 lug 44 to 8 lug 50. You have to swap the entire assembly.
