I am trying to help a friend of mine i.d. his transfer case. It is in a '86 F250 with 460/c-6 combo and 8600 gvw. The tag is missing, but it looks heavier than a np208 but not as heavy duty as my BW1356. Any ideas on what it is and how much abuse it can take?

is the case aluminum or steel? could be eitther or of the 2 case mentioned or a someone could have swapped a np205. i knew a guy who ran a early 80's bronco with 460/c6 and 44's with a np208. it should hold up at least for awhile.

Sorry, I should have included that it is aluminum. It could be a 208, it just looked a little beefier than I remember, but it doesn't have a p.t.o. port like my 1356.

if it is ribbed, it is probably a BW1345... I don't believe they have PTO ports either, at least the one in my '85 didn't.
