Unfortunately since there is only 33 different version of dana 70's it would be a little hard to tell you the wms difference. In all probablity a chevy one is different than a ford.best thing to do is bust out the tape measure and go measure the ones you have found.:D

OK,,,, Then,,, Why can I not just make the 14 bolt on the back of my Tow Rig a Dually??

I need a Dually, I have a one ton 78gmc with a 14 bolt in the rear. I have a junk yard I can go to with a pile of axels as high as a house. I just want to get one that will work,,.

Thanks.

Shawn,

The dually rear is about six inches wider for a pickup with a bed, and I hear a cab/chassis unit is actually not as wide. I think we've talked before. The difference in width has to do with the huge offset of the inner wheel. It's wider so the inner wheel is positioned where a normal single wheel would sit. The brake drum is different too to match shape of dually wheel. I have one I've been considering using, but I think I'ld rather have a fourteen bolt. Could sell for price of fourteen bolt or trade for one. The spring perches and shock mounts would need to be moved as one ton's are different. Gears are 4.11 haven't opened up yet. Hope this helps

Where's the yard with a stack of axles?

Hi Ace, Thanks for the reply. I do remember speaking about the 14 and 70.
Sorry it took so long to get back on this post, but I just got back from Moab.
If you are looking to sell that 70 please email of PM me. I'm not ready to part with my 14 bolt yet.

Summers has a stack of axels as high as a house, with just about every axel you could want,,, well almost,,,
