What rears were in the front of the rangers/explorers? Did they ever coem with a Dana 30? If so, what years? Are the factory manual hubs decent or are they junk? Sorry to bombard with questions.. Thanks

The Explorers all came with a Dana 35. The Rangers came with a 28 and a 35. Not sure on the 30.

The hubs are a weak spot, so are the wheel bearings when used with large tires. Unfortunately the aftermarket hubs for these axles are no better than stock. What IS better is the warranty, which is lifetime on the Warn's and I believe on the Mile Markers also.

FOr upgraded hubs, order the Warn units for their d35 rear fullfloat kit, they are a direct swap and significantly stronger.

those hubs will only work on the ranger /explorer d35 though. if you have a
d28 those hubs wont work...

Are those hubs different than the regular Warn D35 TTB hubs with the cast aluminum bodies?? Any pictures??

Yes, apparently a lot different, from the guys that i have heard that run them, mostly on b2.org and TRS they seem to hold up extremely well to 35" tires.

Nope, they're the "same", heres a link to some decent info on them:

Theres a post over there as well about the hubs and how warn says they're not the exact same - but internals match and the only noticable difference is the weight and strength

The alloy used in the body is very much different, but neither is steel, if that was what you were wondering.
