I recently picked up an 86 comanche w/ a 2.5 and a five speed the trouble is the guy put a new clutch in it and drove it about 15 miles parked it and now the clutch is engauged all the time the pedal does not compress hardly at all.I just wanna hear some ideas before i commit the time to tear into it. Again the pedal doesnt move much at all and the clutch is allways enguaged(when it is running i can shift inbetween gears with out any trouble) so any ideas? or any simular troubles?
Trailhawg :fj:
Any indication it ever worked correctly?
Hydraulic? internal or external slave?

like i said the guy drove it a ways and parked it so it must have worked then .its internal slave thats kind of what i was thinkin was the slave but my dad said some other things i just wanted more ideas or opinions
Are you SURE he drove and and isn't just telling you he did?
If it's not engaging, my first guess would be that the disk is in backwards

I have had a terrible time with the master cylinder in my Chero. I went through two Ho'Reilly's master cylinders, the wagner ones, the seal kept sticking in the bore causing about the same problem you are referring to. When it would sit for a while the piston would seize and it would only move a little, not letting me put it in gear. You may want to check your master cylinder, if its iron, its probably the wagner one. :D
