hey with the JD2 dies (got 2" and 1.75 I can use) can I bend 1" solid rod in em??

I know that I will have to align it to sit in center but I can do that..
so will it screw up the die?? will it take time to make a "grove" in it from the 1" rod or will it happen fast??

also will the model 4 dies fit in a model 3 bender and vise versa??

yes its hydro!

thanks

Never tried bending undersized stuff but I imagine it would work. Grease up the die if your woried (especially if the stuff is rusty--abrasive). I know sometimes rusty tubing will be really tight in the dies and will actually squeek loudly as you pull on the bar!

I wouldn't it won't slide in the die the right way and groove it. An expensive mistake. Go find a conduit bender to do it...

you wont be happy with the way it will look, i had a friend here at work do it and it made a real shitty looking bend in the solid stock. as far as the conduit bender you better be a big sob to bend 1" solid stock. myself, i would just heat it with a torch and bend it aroud a piece of pipe the radius you want. mike
