i am sure this has been asked before. what do you guys think about these tires on a yj that gets drove about 50 miles a week. i like the sizes of the tsl ltb. if not what are the downfalls to a bias ply tire.
p.s does anybody know if the pro- comp xtreme alloys are made by american eagle wheel.
one last ?? how do they measure back spacing
thanks

I have 33x13.50 LTB's on my '97 TJ. It is not a daily driver. It just sees pavement to get to trails and for the occassional ride around when I just feel like driving the Jeep. The downside of the LTB's (and any other heavy, bias tire) is that they will beat the hell out of you on the highway. They also wear pretty quick. I've heard to expect 15-20k max life for highway miles with LTB's. You drive 50 miles a week on the road... how hard do you wheel? what kind of terrain? Maybe they're worth the trade off, maybe not. Just going off the info you've given, I'd suggest giving the Interco Trxus MT's a look. I had them in 31x10.50's on the TJ when it was still my daily driver. They're pretty nice on the road (comparable to a BFG MT) and work pretty well off-road (IMO better than the BFG's, which I've also had). I got about 30k out of them.

I Have 34 In Ltb's And They Have A Nice Roar At Highway Speed, But Its Not Much Louder Than The Top. And This Is On A Daily Driver

i only wheel about 3 to 4 times a year. i liked the ltb because of the price. i drive it back and forth to work a couple of times a week. right now i have MTR's that a little cupped. they are just pricey for a 33"

bias ply's will tend to flat spot if they are left sitting for awhile and its cold, but they go away after a few miles. if your getting a good deal on them then get them. but if you use it that little then jus look for the best deal.

My 34" LTB's didn't flat spot like my 36" SX's do I rarely had a problem with the LTB's developing flat spots where my SX's will get them over night. My LTB's were a good tire for being free, and they weren't too heavy compared to other combo's, they faired well on the street but the compund is really soft and they may not last long even on a rig that is driven 50 miles a week.

im not too keen on having a bias tire on any DD. i would look at a generic M/T or some slightly used 33's on here or other boards. i sold 5 MT/R's that i had for a few months and rims for $500. so deals are out there. just look around.
