Today's encounter with fun! There is an easier line (or two) but they are reserved for the Jeeps!

Tried to get more pics, but my buddies had a strap on it and winched it too fast. Started up and drove it out, only needing to add power steering fluid. Rolled again later inthe day, but didn't eve get out, let alone take pics.

First of all Mike, glad to see you are all right.

Did you 360 roll?

Need a hood?

Wow, Thanks guys:) Not a 360, I was up onto the side hill in the background, taking a bizarre line, thanks to fuel injection (haha). It rolled beyond just a flop, and settled back down on it's side. I have a hood, and all the parts needed, thanks.

I have been pushing it harder lately, and having more fun than should be legal. The tub's taking a beating, but no breakage. Regretfully, it is a rare occasion another built Cruiser is out with us, and then it is when they come from Wisconsin! But the alternative is wheeling with a variety of extreme vehicles.

A typical Sunday will have ( in addition to my Cruiser) a Shannon Campbell tube buggy with small block and an atlas II, a sami powered by a mercedes diesel with coil springs on the rear, a jeep (don't know which model) powered by a Nissan sd33T turbo diesel and 1/4 elliptical rear setup, and a sami with dana 60's and coil overs all around, playing on the trails. All with 37" or bigger tires, the Campbell has 42's, and there is always at least 1 roll over. This mish mash of rigs have different track widths, weights, and diff placements, and powertrain/tranny combos, so no playing follow the leader.

What is amazing is the way each of these rigs and drivers handles the obstacles, some walk easily, where others struggle, and it isn't a given that anybody is making anything on a given day. And it's a rare occasion that any one uses a bypass, these guys are ruthless!

We missed you Woody! GO IU!

Looks like fun in Attica. Too bad to hear Woody didn't make it, he had been looking forward to it. I always love a trip to the badlands, and usually get my rig on it side, broken, or rolled. Thats why I went with the exo-cage on my cruiser after I tacoed the windshield on a large tree, and my several near endo experiences there. Lot of tubing is good!

Helpful hint from another Wisconsin wheeler.

Whoops! It still is fun though! Glad to hear that you have a new hood, and that everybody is ok. I still need to get a new hood for mine after I rolled. I can have a dented body panel but for some reason I just dont like the dented hood :rasta:

Looks like fun... uh, hope that is not rated "3" for the BHCC.

Any plans to add a front protection bar? Around the headlights and little higher than the front of the hood. Might reduce the hood damage in the future? :D

I'm planning on BHCC this year, so looking forward to meeting those Cruiser Heads up north. I'll stick with easier trails, as my son's (9 & 12) will be along with me. :)

Tom, there is ongoing confusion regarding the Badlands. Of course there is the famous national landmark area in South Dakota, buy we also have playgound here in Indiana named Badlands. It is private property and is open to the public for nominal daily fee. The name is Badlands Off Road Park. Here is their web site (http://www.badlandsoffroad.com) if you want more info.

They have a variety of trails and obstacles, and host a couple of national events each year.

I'm glad my wife doesn't read this board, I'd be stuck working on my house too! Right now she thinks it's normal to be able to wrench and not do home remodeling projects!

I could have avoided that spill, but what fun would that be? The place was as busy as I've seen it since last fall, all the purty jeeps were lined up in the quarry posing for pics, hi mom! From the sounds of the crowd they had never seen a rollover, or for that matter a Cruiser. Funny how they noticed how hi the tcase is stuffed up in a Cruiser.

The best part was the recovery, Robby thru a cable down from on top of the hill, attached it to a strap on my cage. I had been wheeling with a few gallons of gas which normally lasts all day, and most escaped out the vent when resting on it's side. So after it was winched upright, the fuel was not getting to the pump, so the starter walked it up the obstacle and to flat ground where it fired right up.

We both kept our extremeties inside and escaped any pain. I may have learned from my past experiences! Cheddarhead Extreme Wheelers, hmmmm I know a few! Met Dale, who was having some trouble, never saw them on the trail where we were. Let me know when your next trip down is!

I just yahoo'd the link to C...she likes to know I'm not the only one who flops in Attica! lol

Glad you keep yer hands in now....I drove yer truck out once and would prefer to not have to do that again! lol (She actually insisted I go this weekend, but _I_ made the choice to get more house work done...plus, the cruiser would have been marginal anyways...)

We are going to be down in June for sure, 22nd and more. Plus, might say screw the WI trip we have planned in May and head down there instead. W4WDA politics....PITA....will keep ya posted....and THIS time I WON'T back out for some weenie house remodeling excuse thing! lol

Damn Mike I saw ya go thru most of Purgatory and I came in behind ya about 150-200 yds and was going to try and catch ya but I snapped a cap on my left frt had to go back up to the parking lot and fix that and then I lost track of you. O well I had no business up there without a cage anyways. Gonna try and maybe head back up in 3 weeks if your interested and I'll have a cage by then and be ready to "roll". Don't know anyone with a bender around here do ya?

Before you go again, post a quick note over here or hit me pm. Zog has a bender, haven't seen it or know anything about it, but it bends something. Maybe he'll jump in here.

Which rig is your's? Alston (near Chicago) bends up cages for Jeeps and Cruisers, and they are very reasonable. I can find the contact info if you need it. You also have to say hey if we cross trails again, I don't bite.
