Not really for a bottle feed on a drill press but non flamable liquid wrench(blue can) actually works better than most things i've tried.

On my lathe I use aw32 hydraulic oil(used on hydraulic elevators)

Last time I went to buy some oil they talked me into some cutting wax, he said that the local machine shops swear by it. I like it and it's less messy than oil. The drawback is that you have to apply it manually.

Ya, I love the wax. LPS.

Neat trick if you need to tap a bunch of BLIND holes, I made up a little wax extruder. 1" blind hole into a block of aluminum. Small (1/8") hole as the outlet from the block. 1" diameter rod as the ram. Drop in a hunk of plain old sealing wax, whole thing in the vise. Crank down... 1/8" diameter wax. Helps push out the chips when tapping holes.

I use about 6 different things for cutting, depending on what I am cutting. Tapmatic (caution!), cutting oil, plain 30W, ATF, and what ever else I have. On the Tapmatic, it is meant for tapping... some nasty stuff comes off it when it burns (if you see smoke... ). Very nasty for your lungs.

Ouch is tapping 24 1/4-20 holes in an aluminum plate, only to snap the tap on holes #23! :( Hat's off to Walton Tools for their neat tap extractor.

I work in an ace hardware and there is a guy who makes carbs for his extremely custom sh*t and he uses the thread cutting oil for pipe like what they use for fire systems  Never tried it myself but he does enough stuff that I'd take his word for it...

Smart cut is a good thick tapping compound that works good for drilling too. Much better than that thin stuff in the red tin can. For aluminum you can't beat A-9. IMHO
