Another true industrial Summit "brown" compressor with true Baldor 3 HP motor. Motor draws 32 amps on 120V and 16 amps on 220V. This is a low RPM motor for longer life at 1725 RPM. Has intercooling on pipe between 1st and 2nd stages. Has recently developed rod knock noise that Summit says is pulley bearing walking 1/4" causing knock. We have been using a mix of Lucas oil stabilizer and 70 weight Torco Racing oil with quieter operation but this should be repaired of course. $400 b/o

Got a pic of the CFM plate? Did summit qoute you a $$$ for the replacement parts?

No they just said we should get a newer but smaller compressor for $1500 installed. I checked the pulley bearing today but could not get it to walk 1/4" but did not pry very hard so I'm not sure if the guy was pulling our leg.

I don't think there is a CFM plate but I'll take a look. This is an older compressor back when HP ratings were real and not peak power like today. I'd put this up against any Sears 7 HP compressor any day. Motor is bigger and makes more HP! It will do 175 psi with out breaking a sweat but was turned down to around 140 psi as we did not need the extra psi or wear and tear on the compressor from the higher output.
