Hey everyone,

Should be an easy question. Upon routine inspection, I stumbled upon something that I had never seen before but apparently it is normal (although does not exist on either of my 88's, only my 90XJ)

There is a large hole in the bellhousing right at the crank position sensor. You can see the torque converter clear as day, here is the question...

Is there supposed to be some sort of cap/cover on this hole? I have a burning rubber smell coming from the area (hence why my inspection focused around that area) could be coincidence, but I am guessing there might have been a rubber cover that fell in.

Since you all tear these things apart, perhaps you have noticed this and can let me know
