I put my YJ's on about a week before Squirlman did and have been bouncing all over the road since. (got lazy I guess) I just now got my shocks in the mail (I went with the DT's). I have it SOA with the trail tough missing links in front. I bought Ford towers for the front and will fab the rear upper mounts. What I need to know is what is the best placement for the Ford towers and all of the lowers? Where the old shock mount is or straight up where the bumpstop pillar is? If anyone could post pics of their front uppers and all of their lower mounts it would be greatly appreciated. Squirlman, you have the same setup as I do (DT8368, DT8407) so if your's is working for you how about some pic's?

Mine is working out great! I don't have any pics right now and I don't have a digi-camera, but I will try to use up the rest of the film in my camera tomorrow and take it in to get developed. I will snap a few shots for ya.
For the front, I cut off the stock shock mount and bumpstop and welded the Ford towers right where they used to be. The top of the shock mounts touch the top of the inner fender well and the bottom of the mounts is about even with the frame. I welded a 1/2" bolt (after I cut the head off) to the front spring plate for a lower mount. For the rear mounts, I used a Spidertrax upper and their lowers. I love the way it all turned out.
I'll get those pictures over the next few days for ya. ~Steve

That would be much appreciated. I am putting them on saturday so if you could do it before it would be great. Anyone else running a similar setup?

I have 9012's front and rear on mine....For maximum travel on my shocks...I made the shock length at 25.5" Front and rear.

For lower mounts Both front and rear
Take some 3" C channel...Cut 2 2" pieces of that. Then take each piece and cut it into half so that you have 2 "L's"
(rear) Face to open end of the "L" towards the axle, and weld the shock stud to the "L". then weld the "L" to the axle.
(front) weld the "L" to the axle on the long side of the "L" to make it stand up, weld the shock stud to end sticking up from the axle.
For the Rear upper
Take a piece of 1x1 tubing, weld it in between the rear frame rails and weld the shock studs to that, i made my shock mount 25.5" apart and angled the rear shocks in at 45*.

This setup works great!

Thanks for the info. Sounds good. Do you get any interference from the spring plates? What about your front uppers mounts? If you get a chance send some pics.

I made my own mounts from 3" open box beam....that was before the discovery of ford mounts....

But if you do a seach by my screan name....You will find plenty of pics from my d44 swap with things that i did...

No i didnt get any interferience from the spring plates...but i mounted mine upside down too...
