I haven't seen it set up this way, but with a crossover setup , run the ram between a mount off of the axle tub to the drivers side high steer arm. Tie rod could be used as normal to set toe adjustments. Ram up high. Possable clearance issues?
Has anyone seen it set up this way?

I would connect the high steer arms and the stock tie rod arms with one long bolt and spacers to take some of the stress off of the area of the knuckles pointed out with the arrows

I don't think they actually line up like in the drawing. I've never seen that before. Has that been done?

done even bother, when you set the toe with your tie rod you just put it in specs and then turn it till the mounts line up, half a turn or less on your tie rod is not enough the throw your off your toe adjustment. some of these things just arent as complicated as some people make them out to be. Oh and youre going to love the hydro assist. Its got to be the best thing I've done to my new rig.

I mounted the fixed end of my ram towards the drivers side. I made a tower off the axle tube and bolted a plate between it and the u-bolts. This pic doesnt show the hi crossover tie rod, it was getting installed at the time. I did this so I could get enough room for the ram to extend out far enough towards the passenger side without hitting the center diff.

If you do it like in the drawing you are putting all the force on one knuckle and requiring it to move the other... If you put it on the tie rod it pushes and pulls at the same time. I agree why make it more complicated? If you are going to run high steer just put the tie rod up there too and keep it from geting bashed in.

I was told that the high steer wouldn't work on my Dodge, clearance issues with the pitman arm, drag link and drivers side spring. I was going to get the crossover set up first and go from there.
Urban Wheeler, I see your point about the distribution of stress. I need a new tie rod anyhow so I guess I'll just make a real beefy one.

IMO, this is a great way to set up a TJ front end with hydro assist.

Well at this point I'm not sure which is better, but the ram to arm looks cleaner. Doesn't mean poo if it just brakes knucks though. Looks like the opinions are with the ram to tie rod. Maybe cause thats all thats been tried. I'd like to know what happens when its done. Maybe I'll try it and if I brake a knuckle I'll have to buy some beef. For R&D sake.:flipoff2:
