there is a good body lift?

On a serious note performance accsories makes a good one. I dont think there is much difference in them though.

I wouldn't put a body lift on. I have one on my truck(was there when i bought it) and it gives nothing but problems, and it looks sortta funny too. Go with a suspension, just wait and save.

I already have a 4" lift and will be fitting 37"+ tires soon. I dont want a higher spring lift and 2" bod lift is the max I would do. I will be replacing the body mounts at the same time cause mine are shot so I thought while I'm at it why not throw on a body lift? And I could care less what it looks like :D :p

Fair enough, and as charlo said , i dont think there is a real difference. Anyways have fun

www.offroaddesign.com sells a SOILD 1 inch lift. None of this plastic junk. Not sure if stacking pucks is a great idea. I guess you could weld them so they can't act like a shear.
Have to hunt down the grade 5 bolts.

Time to get out the sawzall if you ask me. A body lift is just asking for trouble.

I recommend going with a 1" ORD body lift. Thats what I used. They are machined out of solid aluminum... very firm connection between the body and frame, and thats a good thing. The cool thing about the 1" of body lift is that it doesnt require any wacky modifications to work. All you have to do is adjust your tranny shift linkage and you are set.

At most I would do ORDs 1" body lift. Heavy trucks dont like body lifts, and flexing them out on rocks really doesnt help either. And since thats all we have here in AZ thats what you will be doing I hope. I have seen jeeps break the pucks and Ive seen there bodys sit funny from them. But jeeps can get a 1" body lift with poly bushings, unlike us. They dont break apart just like the aluminum ones.

I have had 2 P.A. 3" Body lifts and l liked them both. Just replace the body bushings if they are worn and it will work just fine. They do look kind of funny but they help keep the body off the rocks and give more clearance for dual t-case swaps and the like.:D

Hey paul you also have to remember that Arizona isnt kind to plastic. It dryrots quick and falls apart.

hey do what i did but mine is a 5 so you might not need as much go down to the local mill steel place and ask for solid aluminum and then cut them all to length and drill the center. i also have access to a machine shop so that helped to make them all perfect and the right way. then go get some grade eight or five bolts and lock them in and you are set to go . diamond aluminum looks good and you can make them go with the frame to cover gaps.i do alot of fabrication on many things so i know what needs to be done plus having a shop key so i can use it 24'7 works god to. uncles are wonderfull

A friend of mine picked up the rolers they use on boat trailers that are rubber with a steal sleve down the middle at a loacal discount hardware store for around a buck each and cut them down to 5 in.

i thought about that but i like aluminum look and i do alot of custom things my truck is no half done play toy all show and alot of go almost 1000 hp under the hood with the wheels spining to prove it i pulled a crew powerstroke with a charger 15 ft chain to chain 4 wheel the kid had no clue what happenedbut he has not messed with me again!they think it is a queen until they ride in it or see how hard i play with it .i have won alot of burnout comp and show prizes. on offense about the rollers a good idea though i might do it to my beater that i just hit everything with.

s10 cowboy, what kinda axles are you running with 1000 hp? What motor and tranny?

s10cowboy
03-31-2002, 03:38 PM
i am currently running 1 ton militarys and am looking for bigger 2 ton militatry i have a blower motor with nitrous and the motor is my secrect we will say it is a little 4.3 though with a 700r4 the truck is built to the hill for boggs and pulling and show i will post specs when the whole thing is done i don't like to give out secrets because then when i am in comp i get screwed. yes i am an asshole about my rigs

Desertdueler

I drag race, so I was just wondering. I personally dont think that you have a 700r4 being able to hold up to 1000 hp. And have you had it on a dyno? I have yet to see a 1000 hp v-6 even with a blower and nitrous, unless your hitting like a 500 shot;) What kinda blower?

BTW s10cowboby Powerstrokes cant have a charger, they are diesels with turbos from the factory, the only way they come, and with a chip on those you can get 750 ft/lbs of torque jst above idle :D

I have a Performance 3 inch body lift on my Burb and have had no problems with it. I put Lift lips inside the fender wells and it looks fine. I'm putting a new fab'd bumper on the back and a new trail ready winch bumper on the front. Both made to compenaste for the body lift. P.A. makes brakets for the bumpers to offset the body lift gap.

OK s10 boy a 5 inch body lift is the scariest thing I have ever heard of on a truck with "1000 hp" you're lucky thay your boy with the power stroke didn't pull the frame right out from under you. Be safe and drop it down before you kill somebody

I would say s10cowboy is bluffing alittle:D Like I said I have yet to see a 4.3 liter put out that much hp, and I would like to see the Power Stroke he beat, was it on stock tires? Because those thinks have way too much low end power to get beaten by a gas motor. There are guys out there wh use the F-350s to pull 52' enclosed trailers.

You don't need a body lift to fit 37" tires on your 4" suspension lift.........you only need one item - a sawzall. mudhog from CK5 has 38 Super Swamper's on his 77 K5 with my old 2.5" Rancho lift. Fit fine with judicious use of the cutter. You'll more than likely need sawzall work anyway so why waste money on a body lift at all. They should be outlawed, especially if they are in the 5" range.............with 1000 hp motor............on a V-6.

Hey Desertdueler,
Do you think he runs 4" blocks in the front of that 1000hp, 5" body lift s10? I would love to see a 700r4 handle 1000hp without spraying parts in every direction!

Further more, a 4.3liter making 1000hp = about 3.8HP per ci. Very impressive. My bosses blown/injected 67 chevelle only make about 750hp.

I have blower motors in both of my trucks. They help keep me warm in the winter and cool in the summer...

You would have to wrap the whole damn truck in a scattershield! Sounds like the 80+ mph boats I used to beat all the time, and I was only clocked on rader at 72mph..

s10cowboy: Quit :smokin: the crack man, it's bad for you.

Erich, LOL. I have problems with 700r4s holding up to 300 hp. Yea, it probably has blocks up front, becasue its faster that way

Hey, do you still have your boat? What kind? I have a 65 Howard v-drive. Its goes 85 MPH acording to the GPS my buddy has.:D

I HAD an 85 Nordic Sprint (Like a Beismier (sp)) that we stuffed a 455 olds in. We ran AVgas dual quads and a bunch of head work. Unfortunately, it caught on fire and sank at Apache Lake. Oops!::nuke:

We think we had a fuel pressure regulator crack and spray fuel on the starter. I wasn't even in the boat at the time I was in Party cove with my dad's waverunner. He was going to meet me after giving my girlfriend (now wife) a tour of the lake...

I will try to find a picture of it.
