I think you use whatever bellhousing you can get and make work :D

My own preference is for 168-tooth. Stock 12" clutch is cheap. Flywheels are easier to find. Starters are more common.

Also realize the SM420 is factory-rated for 287lb-ft input torque.

IMO use an SM465 and its matching bellhousing.

ye ok but if your are using a big
14.096"- 168 teeth one you must have a bell housing to fit the
big flywheel the 2 bell housing`s i have do not fit the
larg flywheel just the smaler 12.835"- 153 teeth
flywheel`s so i just ned a part # for a bell housing that will fit the big 168 teeth flywheel

do you have a part # for a bell housing that fit`s the big fly wheel ? ? ? ? ?

Yes, you would need a 168-tooth flywheel.

I don't have part #s... only by application - these are iron, and use the b/h mount starter. With some grinding, a block-mounted starter will work.
60-62 Chevy truck (hydraulic)
63-67 Chevy truck (mechanical)

Another way to go is have an indexing ring made and use the ultra-common 73-87 truck bellhousing setup.

dont car style bellhousings work on a sm420?

I think you will have better luck asking Jeep guys sm420 questions,
chev guys use the sm465 and leave the ancient stuff that requires expensive adapters to the deep pocket Heepers

Yes, but most are the smaller size for the 153-tooth flywheel.
